John Curley, playing out of Hyannis GC, climbed up the leaderboard with a 4-under 67 in the final round to finish tied for 18th at the New England Amateur at Green Mountain National GC in Killington, Vt.

Evan Russell from the Country Club of Vermont won the event.

Curtis Collopy (Hyannis GC), Jimmy Egan (New Seabury) and Henry Smith (Edgartown GC) missed the 36-hole cut.

? Hannah Ghelfi of East Falmouth finished 12th at the American Junior Golf Association Championship at Tedesco Country Club in Marblehead. Jack Kade of Dennis was tied for 48th in the boys division.

PUBLIC LINKS, U.S. AMATEUR QUALIFYING ON TAP THIS WEEK: Qualifying for the Massachusetts Amateur Public Links Championship continues. In the field today at Heritage CC in Charlton are Kenneth Annese (Dennis Pines), Tom Flynn (Captains), J.C. Murphy (Mink Meadows), Robert Sarvis (Miacomet) and Leonard Vanderhoop (Mink Meadows).

In last week?s qualifier at CrossWinds in Plymouth, Dave Houghton of Captains was medalist with a 3-over 75. Also earning a berth in the state finals Aug. 5-6 at Glen Ellen in Millis were Brian Secia (Miacomet), Chris Menne (Farm Neck), Mike Walker (Dennis Pines), Andrew Flynn (Captains), Bram Daly (Miacomet), Dennis Konary (Olde Barnstable), Sal Visali (Hyannis GC), Dennis Mannix (Dennis Pines) and Steve Boukus (Miacomet).

? Crestview in Agawam will host a qualifier for the U.S. Amateur on Tuesday. Ryan Dowd of Chatham, Connor Murphy of West Barnstable and Tim Norton of Cummaquid are entered. Most local players will be at Cape Cod National in Brewster next Tuesday, July 30.
